How Can I Set Up An Amazon Account On Kindle Fire Without Credit Card?
Apparently Amazon requires a credit card on file with your Amazon account to setup your Kindle Fire. You can however use a debit Visa or debit mastercard gift card that you normally see that they sell at the supermarket. It doesn’t have to be a credit card. Make sure to register the visa or mastercard gift card online with your name so that it is tied to you before you actually put the card onto your Amazon account.

I’m thinking about getting a Kindle Fire as a substitute for the data package on an iphone or the ipad because of the drastic price difference.
i just want to know if this is a good idea- its smaller, cheaper, wifi capable, touch screen, etc
also i want to know if it has a note taking capability like the ipad does so if i use it for my classes i can take a quick note and store it for later? it wasn’t something i could find out about on amazon or anything

You need an amazon account so most likely yes. But if you make your first purchase with a gift card it may work. You should be able to change preferred payment later.
I just got a fire but have been an amazon customer for years do they already had my info. Whenever I set someone up with iTunes acct too I tell em to use gift card instead of credit from the get go.
